Once again, it is time for our Tuesday Spotlight. This week we are shining our spotlight on Lemongrass Grapefruit soap and moisturizer. Please allow us to first discuss the scent of this nourishing bar. Lemongrass oil on its own is lovely. It is a bright, fresh, lemony scent that is uplifting and refreshing. However, when blended with grapefruit oil, it takes it to a whole new level. Think: spa day in a posh Florida spa with the sun shining, a cool breeze blowing and wafts of citrus grove catching in the breeze. It is a mild, gentle scent. It's not too overpowering or too cloying. It is just light, fresh, and invigorating.
Now, allow us to discuss the benefits of lemongrass oil. Lemongrass oil is very cleansing. It is believed to have anti-fungal and anti-microbial fighting qualities. It also does wonders for inflammation. Whether it is from acne, a small break out, a day in the sun, or general redness, lemongrass oil is believed to help calm the inflammation. Although, I make no medical claims, lemongrass oil has been believed to aid in skincare for centuries. When combined with our pure, raw goat's milk, as well as nourishing and moisturizing oils, this bar is a true luxury.
There is a bit of care that needs to be taken when using our natural milk based products. Do not allow your bar to sit in a pool of water. We use no artificial hardeners in our soaps, they will melt and turn to goo if left to sit in water. If possible, keep the bar dry between uses. This will allow optimum lasting power for your soap. Also, when using the moisturizer, store in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight and any heat sources. Although we recommend seven months of shelf stability after it is made, warm conditions can cause it to break down and grow bacteria and mold. If you purchase several jars and aren't going to use them right away, I recommend storing the unopened jar in the refrigerator until you are ready to use it. A side note, storing your moisturizer in the refrigerator in summer months is a welcome cooling refresher. Using a clean spoon or spatula to scoop out your moisturizer will also inhibit bacterial growth. These are just some simple practices to aid in the longevity of your products.
As always, the Lemongrass Grapefruit soap and moisturizer are on sale this week at 50% off. This is a wonderful opportunity to try something new or stock up on a favorite. Savings can be found on our website and there is no promo code necessary. As always, dear reader, stay safe, stay smart, and wash your hands. Don't forget to moisturize too. Cracks and scrapes in our skin allow bacteria to enter.
